Charity Race in Nizwa on breast cancer awareness

As part of an ongoing campaign to raise awareness about breast cancer, a charity race was held in Nizwa, with all proceeds benefiting the Oman Cancer Association's Al Dakhiliyah branch.
The race coincided with the global Breast Cancer Awareness Month, underscoring the local community's commitment to increasing awareness and supporting cancer patients.
Organized by Intercity Hotel Nizwa, the race featured a 5-kilometer course for adults and a 2-kilometer course for children.
More than 230 participants of diverse ages and nationalities joined the event, and a large audience of families and expatriates attended, showcasing strong community support for this humanitarian cause.
The opening and closing ceremonies were attended by a Majlis A'Shura member and representative of Nizwa, Ahmed bin Nasser al Abri.
In the children’s 2-kilometer race, Imad Al-Hinai claimed first place in the boys' category, followed by Abdulrahman al Mughairi in second and Al-Khalil al Shakili in third.
In the girls' category, Ahood al Hinai took first place, with Al-Anoud al Hinai in second and Abrar al Riyami in third.
The adults’ 5-kilometer race showcased strong performances.
In the Junior Men’s division, Hamed al Riyami placed first with a time of 18:00 minutes, followed by Said al Shuraiqi at 18:36 minutes and Yousuf al Fahdi at 20:13 minutes.
In the Senior Men’s division, Mahmoud alRiyami led with an impressive 16:19 minutes, closely followed by Mohammed al Riyami at 16:20 minutes and Abdulrahman Awlad Thani at 16:23 minutes.
In the women’s category, Senior runner Nusaiba al Riyami achieved first place with a time of 33:44 minutes, followed by Maasoma al Balushi at 34:35 minutes and Najma in third with a time of 37:28 minutes.
