Sayyid Theyazin to preside over Youth Day fete in Manah

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman will celebrate Omani Youth Day, which falls on October 26 of each year, in line with His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik's keenness on this important segment of society and His Majesty's belief that they are 'the wealth of nations and its inexhaustible resource, and their arms that build.'
HH Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham bin Tarik al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, will preside over the ceremony that will be held on this occasion at the Oman Across Ages Museum in Manah, Al Dakhiliyah Governorate.
The ceremony includes the announcement of the winners of the Youth Excellence Award for the year 2024, which comes as an extension of honouring distinguished Omani youth and highlighting the efforts seeking to serve youth and society and effective institutional initiatives and creating a spirit of competition among Omani youth and encouraging them to develop skills in order to build an aware, responsible, creative and proactive generation.
This year, the award targeted 5 categories: individuals, youth institutions, civil society institutions and companies supporting the youth sector, and its fields vary in the digital economy, digital media, environment, work, entrepreneurship and youth initiatives.
The ceremony also includes the inauguration of branches of the Youth Centre in the governorates with the aim of reaching and inclusiveness for all youth categories in the Sultanate of Oman, and signing a number of cooperation and partnership agreements.
It is noteworthy that the official data issued by the Youth Centre indicate that the total number of beneficiaries of the centre reached 110,361 by the end of September of this year, including 101,600 young people benefiting from the centre's spaces. The number of small and medium enterprises contracted with the centre by the end of September of this year reached 309 institutions, while the number of training programmes reached 107.
