Omani Lawyers Association discusses professional challenges

 
The Omani Lawyers Association (OLA), in association with the Board of Directors of the Lawyers Association, organised a joint dialogue session on professional challenges of lawyers, in the presence of lawyer Dr Hamad bin Hamdan al Rubaie, Chairman of the Association, members of the Board of Directors, and lawyers at various levels of litigation at the Association’s headquarters in Al Sanhouri Library in the Airport Heights.

The session began with a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, and witnessed Lawyer Dr. Hamad bin Hamdan Al Rubaie delivering a speech on behalf of the Board of Directors, welcoming the attendees.

Al Rubaie touched upon many of the professional challenges that the Association must stand with, side by side with lawyers, in order to develop the legal profession, in addition to the achievements and work that the Association has provided over the past years. Lawyer Dr Saeed bin Suleiman al Raisi, Vice President of the Association for Professional Affairs, also explained the most important challenges facing the legal profession and their causes, in addition to how to advance the profession, and the tools used by the Association’s Board of Directors to address various challenges in order to develop the law as profession.

The Omani Lawyers Association (OLA), established on March 17, 2007, has recently joined the Arab Lawyers Union, at the congress of Arab Lawyers Union in Bahrain. The annual Fak Kurbah initiative of the OLA which aims to collect financial donations to relieve the families of insolvent people due to claims incurred by them in civil, commercial, legal, or labor cases, has also been praised for its efficiency and social commitment.
