200 int'l artists to take part in Muscat Art

The third edition of Muscat Art Exhibition 2024 will be held at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre f Culture from October 28 to 31.
MUSCAT: The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth (MoCSY), in partnership with the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre, is organising the third edition of Muscat Art Exhibition 2024, from October 28 to 31. The opening ceremony of the exhibition, which will be held at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre, will be sponsored by Qais bin Mohammed al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion.

Sayyid Said bin Sultan al Busaidy, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth for Culture, said: “Muscat Art Exhibition is one of the important artistic programmes that the Ministry is keen to include in the artistic calendar of the Sultanate of Oman.”

He said that artists from different countries will gather in Muscat to celebrate art and provide an exceptional experience throughout the exhibition.

He explained that the cooperation with the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre in organising this event comes to enhance cultural awareness and focus on the importance of visual art through workshops and community activities.

Said bin Salim al Shanfari, CEO of the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre, said: The centre is a wonderful space known for its ability to host events from various strategic fields.'

Al Shanfari added that through the Muscat Art Exhibition, the centre seeks to showcase the culture and traditions of the Sultanate of Oman and hosts the artistic trends that shape Oman today, in addition to the growing interest at the regional level every year as new artists display their works on the walls of the centre.

More than 200 artists from 18 countries, including Hungary, Iran, Yemen, Palestine, Lebanon, India, the United Kingdom, Sudan and Germany, will participate in the third edition of the Muscat Art Fair for the year 2024.

Art Muscat aims to promote cultural awareness, preserve the visual arts heritage and gain regional recognition. The event has grown in popularity, attracting more exhibitors and visitors each year, with the vision to become a major regional art gathering, as well as an art exhibition, playing a major role in the Omani cultural scene by celebrating the living talents of the Sultanate of Oman. This year’s edition includes lectures and workshops on art-related topics, and visitors will be able to enjoy sculpture workshops, live music and entertainment.
