Suhar: The Office of the Governor of Al Batinah North hosted the 'Leaders' meeting,' a two-day event led by Mohammed bin Suleiman al Kindi, Governor of Al Batinah North.

The meeting brought together deputy governors, directors, and other high-ranking officials to foster a culture of innovation, trust, and collaboration among leadership.

The discussions centred on reviewing the governorate’s strategic plan, addressing current challenges, and setting future goals aimed at enhancing public services and institutional performance.

Among the participants were several female leaders, whose contributions to the development and governance of Al Batinah North are important.

They shared their insights on leadership and emphasised the value of such forums in enhancing cooperation and sound decision-making.

Hajar bint Misbah al Qatabiyah, Director of Municipal Council Affairs, highlighted her leadership qualities, focusing on effective communication, influence and problem-solving.

She stressed the importance of teamwork in driving success, stating, 'Working as a cohesive team to prioritise the public good over personal interests is the true value of this meeting.' Looking ahead, Hajar envisions herself becoming a consultant to the governor, further enhancing her knowledge and strengthening community ties.

Maitha bint Hamad al Maqbaliyah, Director of Financial Affairs, emphasised her leadership approach rooted in teamwork, strategic financial planning, and data-driven decisions. She praised the event’s focus on knowledge exchange, which offered valuable insights for improving her department’s efficiency.

Maitha’s goals include achieving financial balance in the governorate and boosting transparency, emphasising the critical role such meetings play in building professional networks and sharing best practices.

Manal bint Suleiman al Ajmiyah, Head of the Planning and Statistics Department, expressed her passion for innovation and continuous improvement. She believes that collective team efforts, not individual actions, drive success. Manal aspires to lead major developments in planning and statistical analysis to support the governorate’s long-term objectives.

Rehab al Badi, a Statistics Specialist involved in monitoring Oman Vision 2040, echoed similar sentiments. Her expertise in communication and data-based decision-making reinforces her belief in the importance of leadership meetings for enhancing collaboration and service quality.

Female leaders in Al Batinah North Governorate continue to face challenges as they advance their roles.

Hajar al Qatabiyah highlighted the internal struggle of self-belief that many women experience, which can hinder their progress.

However, these leaders are challenging societal expectations, demonstrating their abilities through their achievements. Maitha noted the difficulty of breaking traditional perceptions in male-dominated sectors like finance, while Al Ajmi discussed the balancing act between personal responsibilities and professional ambitions. Despite these challenges, their perseverance, commitment to continuous learning, and emphasis on teamwork are proving effective.

All four women underscored the importance of a strong support network, both within their institutions and beyond.

With initiatives like the 'Leaders' Meeting' and the guidance of influential figures such as Governor Mohammed al Kindi, they are overcoming barriers and advancing sustainable development in their respective fields. These trailblazing leaders are paving the way for future female leadership in Oman.
