Muscat: Despite heavy rains since Tuesday night and until this morning, the traffic in the capital Muscat has been largely unaffected, a Royal Oman Police (ROP) spokesman told the Observer.

He added, 'There have been some minor reports, but they have not affected the traffic movement majorly. There was an accident in Al Musannah where four vehicles crashed. Because of the water ponds, vehicle tires can slide causing them to unbalance and crash.'

ROP patrols are positioned in all places to contain such accidents.

Traffic has been opened on Al Jabal Street ((Amerat - Bausher road) or the Moutain Road as the clouds move towards the coasts of the Al Wusta Governorate.
