3rd batch of Basic Emergency Medical Sciences Course graduates

MUSCAT: The Public Authority for Civil Defence and Ambulance (PACDA) on Monday celebrated the graduation of the third batch of the Basic Emergency Medical Sciences Course, under the auspices of Dr Said bin Hareb al Lamki, Under-secretary of the Ministry of Health for Health Affairs.

A number of brand new ambulances fitted with advanced equipment such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation and artificial respiration devices, devices for monitoring body organs, were launched during the ceremony.



After graduating from the Sultan Qaboos Academy for Police Sciences, the graduates underwent a 6-month foundation programme during which they received English language courses and IELTS test, anatomy and physiology and medical terminology related to pre-hospital emergency medical services. In order to fulfil the programme’s requirements, they joined the Basic Emergency Medicine Programme which was divided into two 16-week semesters in addition to 8 weeks in first aid centres. — ONA
