Elon Musk to visit Muscat for annual IFSWF meet

Muscat: Businessman and investor Elon Musk will visit Muscat to participate in the annual meeting of the International Forum of Sovereign Wealth Funds (IFSWF), organized by the Oman Investment Authority in November.
He will discuss the technology and trends shaping today's world and the likely changes it will cast in the future, the Forum said in an official post.

International Forum of Sovereign Wealth Funds (IFSWF)
It was earlier reported Oman Investment Authority (OIA) will host the annual meeting of the International Forum of Sovereign Wealth Funds (IFSWF) from November 3-6 in Muscat at the St. Regis Hotel Muscat.
Nasser Suleiman al Harthy, Vice President of OIA for Operations, said that the meeting, scheduled to be held in Muscat, provides an opportunity to promote Oman and attract foreign investments.
The forum will be attended by heads of the largest sovereign wealth funds in the world whose wealth exceeds $8 trillion.
The forum will open up vistas for building a network of relations with the establishments and introduce them to Oman’s natural resources and investment advantages. This will in turn consolidate the country’s presence in the global arena, draw foreign capital, and generate opportunities to build long-term partnerships that will reflect positively on Oman’s economic diversification and the national economy’s growth.
The forum will discuss the evolving role of Sovereign Wealth Funds in the dynamic world of global economics and politics, sovereign wealth funds, which will be presented by Samra al Harthy, Director of Economic & Investments Research, OIA.
IFSWF members will explore investment opportunities in AI, which is purported to fundamentally transform the global economy and alter market dynamics. The session will explore how IFSWF members can go about responsibly investing in AI-based technologies.
