MUSCAT: Oman’s inflation rate increased by 1.1% in August 2024 compared to the same period in 2023, according to the National Centre for Statistics and Information. Key contributors to the rise include food and non-alcoholic beverages (up 3.3%) and housing-related costs (up 1.7%).

Notably, transportation costs dropped by 2.7%, while prices for vegetables saw the largest increase at 11.5%. Musandam Governorate recorded the highest inflation at 2.3%, followed by South Al Sharqiyah at 2.2%, and other regions also experiencing moderate increases. — ONA
