MUSCAT: A goalless draw marked the match between Bahla and Sohar, which took place on Thursday at the Ibri Sports Complex, as part of the sixth round of the Omantel Football League.

The match saw several dangerous attempts from both teams. Sohar started pressing early, and Abdul Muin al Marzouqi's shot in the fifth minute nearly opened the scoring, but it went just wide of the post. In the 18th minute, Bahla's goalkeeper Fayez al Rushaidi made a brilliant save to a header from Robert Gansah. Bahla responded with several chances, the most notable being a powerful shot by Abdullah al Shibli in the 30th minute, but Sohar's goalkeeper Salah al Hanadhli saved it with difficulty.

In the second half, Bahla applied pressure on Sohar, but the attacks lacked precision and focus. The best chance came in the 85th minute when Prince Claude missed a clear opportunity for Sohar. The match ended in a goalless draw. With this result, Sohar raised their tally to six points, placing them in seventh, while Bahla earned their first point in the league, placing them in eleventh.

OMAN CLUB EDGE SUR

Oman Club secured a valuable 1-0 win over Sur Club at the Sur Sports Complex.

The first half was balanced with offensive plays from both sides. The first chance came for Sur in the fourth minute through professional player Wite Bebo, but Oman Club responded quickly with a powerful shot from their professional player Kiatelo that went over the crossbar in the sixth minute. Despite the available chances, neither team succeeded in finding the net, as Oman players missed several opportunities due to a lack of focus, while Sur’s attacks posed little threat to goalkeeper Abdulaziz al Hasani. The first half ended in a goalless draw.

In the second half, the attempts continued until stoppage time, when Saud al Habsi scored the winning goal for Oman Club with a precise header. With this victory, Oman Club raised their tally to 16 points, maintaining third place, while Sur remain at the bottom of the standings with just one point.
