Muscat: The National Emergency Management Committee, through its National Emergency Management Center, is set to launch a comprehensive awareness campaign next Sunday across all wilayats of the Dhofar Governorate. The campaign, which aims to educate the public on weather hazards and tsunami risks, will run until October 7.
The campaign, which will cover all wilayats of Dhofar, aims to raise community awareness about weather, climate and tsunami risks.
The campaign comprises four key components: awareness meetings, seminars, practical exercises, exhibitions, and the distribution of informational bulletins. These activities aim to engage and educate the public on necessary precautions and responses to potential weather-related threats.
This campaign is a collaborative effort involving the Ministry of Information, the Civil Aviation Authority (specifically the National Center for Early Warning of Multiple Risks), the Civil Defense and Ambulance Authority, and several local partners, including the Office of the Governor of Dhofar, the Directorate General of Education, the Directorate General of Social Development, and the Youth Centre in Salalah.
Community participation is encouraged to ensure widespread understanding and preparedness.
