MoE reviews vocational education progress in Al Batinah N

MUSCAT: The Ministry of Education, through its School Education Development and Restructuring Project Management Office, along with the Engineering and Industrial Specialisations Team and strategic partner Oman Energy Association (OPAL), visited private training institutions in Al Batinah North Governorate to assess the progress of technical and vocational education programmes in engineering and industrial specialisations.
During the visit, the team engaged with students, gathering feedback on curricula, transportation and training workshops.
Discussions were also held on strengthening cooperation between these institutions, the Directorate-General of Education and schools implementing technical and vocational programmes. The meeting included school directors to address developmental aspects and the role of administration in monitoring programme application.
This academic year, the Ministry has introduced six fields of technical and vocational education, including engineering maintenance, mechanical manufacturing, occupational health and safety, solid structure maintenance, lifting and lowering operations and welding and metal forming. With 600 students across ten government schools in the governorates of Muscat and Al Batinah North, these specialised subjects are taught two days a week in private training institutions.
