150 kg of expired ice cream seized

Muscat: around 150 kg of expired ice cream that was unfit for human consumption was seized from a shop in Al Buraimi by the municipality. The shop was closed and legal matters have been initiated in the matter.
Al Buraimi Municipality called on all commercial establishments to adhere to the applicable health requirements.
According to experts, ice creams have expiry dates and their durability also depends on storage facilities like the freezers and containers.
Ice cream will last for up to six months in the freezer. Most packs have an expiration date stamped on the container.
