Al Bashayer edge Seeb in Credit Oman Cup

Muscat: Al Bashayer Club achieved a thrilling victory over Seeb Club with a score of 62-60 in the 2024 Credit Oman Basketball Cup, adding two valuable points to their tally, reaching four points. The match took place in the secondary hall of Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher, where both teams showcased a balanced performance, with the game remaining highly competitive until the final moments.

The match began with Al Bashayer taking the lead in the first quarter through a successful basket by Osama al Riyami but Seeb quickly responded with a basket from Rasheed al Zuhaibi. The exchanges continued between the two teams, as Hadeed Bait Bukhait scored four points for Al Bashayer, while Ayman al Mahrami responded with two points for Seeb, ending the first quarter with Al Bashayer ahead 11-8.



In the second quarter, Seeb came out stronger, attacking to narrow the gap. Rasheed al Zuhaibi and Ayman al Mahrami scored four points, giving Seeb the lead at 12-11. However, Al Bashayer bounced back through a three-pointer and another basket from Hadeed Bait Bukhait, taking a five-point lead. Seeb then regained control, scoring six points through Ayman al Mahrami and Marwan al Hadidi, ending the second quarter with a 29-27 lead.

In the third quarter, the offensive exchanges continued, with Al Bashayer scoring five points through Saeed al Saadi, while Seeb responded with two points from Marwan al Hadidi and another two from Mazen al Hadidi, maintaining a 33-32 lead. Despite this, Al Bashayer managed to turn the game around, adding 16 points compared to Seeb’s 13, ending the third quarter with Al Bashayer leading 48-46.

In the fourth quarter, the game remained tightly contested, with both teams scoring 14 points each. The match concluded with Al Bashayer securing a 62-60 victory.

The match was officiated by international referee Ahmed al Balushi as the first referee, with international referees Issam al Siyabi and Mazen al Hilali as the second and third referees, respectively. The score table was managed by Mariam al Zadjali, Miad al Hamdani and Hafedh Oulad Ahmed.
