Al Buraimi Municipal Council debates Oman-UAE joint railway project

AL BURAIMI: The Municipal Council of Al Buraimi Governorate held its seventh meeting for this year on Monday to discuss the implementation of the railway project that will link the Sultanate of Oman and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
During the meeting, Sayyid Dr Hamad bin Ahmed al Busaidy, Governor of Al Buraimi and Chairman of Al Buraimi Municipal Council was briefed on the work progress at the railway project that will link the Sultanate of Oman and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The council hosted Engineer Ahmed al Musawa al Hashemi, CEO of Hafeet Rail beside specialists from Asyad Group.
Al Hashemi, commended the pivotal role played by all stakeholders in Al Buraimi Governorate and the support provided by the Municipal Council to the project which, he said, would enhance logistical and commercial links between the two countries. The discussion also touched on the importance of enhancing local content in all works related to the project to benefit the local communities. These advantages include opportunities for business owners and small and medium enterprises in the governorate, creating job opportunities during the implementation and operation phases.
During the meeting, the Projects Department of Al Buraimi Municipality reviewed the bicycle track and the challenges it faces and reviewed the proposed plans to improve the user experience. It also discussed community demands to repair damaged roads in a way that meets the aspirations and needs of residents and enhances the quality of services provided in the region.
