Qurayat: The expansion of the gynecology and obstetrics clinics at Qurayat Hospital opened yesterday, under the auspices of Dr Said bin Harib al Lamki, Under-secretary for Health Affairs at the Ministry of Health in the presence of Shaikh Talal bin Saif al Hosni, Wali of Qurayat and a number of officials.
The expansion enhances the hospital’s ability to deliver integrated medical services by providing state-of-the-art equipment to meet the needs of patients and provide high-quality health services.
Among the most important improvements is the launch of the virtual emergency medicine system which links Qurayat Hospital to the Royal Hospital. The system enhances the medical team’s ability to obtain advanced medical consultations for emergency cases thereby expediting emergency response and providing appropriate treatment in the least amount of time possible.
The emergency department was equipped with an ultrasound device to conduct tests more accurately and provide appropriate diagnoses for emergency cases and severe injuries. In addition, a mobile incubator for premature babies has been set up to facilitate the transfer of critical cases to referral hospitals in Muscat.
The physiotherapy department has also been expanded and equipped with modern devices to improve the work environment and services provided to patients. The improvements also included expanding the computer technicians’ offices and the server room, expanding the dialysis unit waiting room to provide a convenient space for patients while waiting. The maternity ward has witnessed significant development to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for mothers. In addition, essential medicines and medical devices such as assistive breathing devices and an automated defibrillator have been provided to speed up the treatment of emergency cases and provide special facilities for people with disabilities.
