GCC calls for efforts to stop Israeli war on Gaza
Ministers hold joint meetings with India, Russia and Brazil

RIYADH: The Sultanate of Oman on Monday took part in the 161st meeting of the GCC Ministerial Council, which was held at the GCC Secretariat-General in Riyadh.
Oman’s delegation was led by Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidy, Foreign Minister.
The Ministerial Council, chaired by Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, was briefed on the efforts made by the committees working within the framework of the GCC and the Secretariat-General to implement the decisions of the GCC Supreme Council in a manner that enhances joint Gulf action in all fields.
The Council also reviewed developments in political issues at the regional and international arenas, most notably the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip and the international efforts made to stop it.
Sayyid Badr also took part in the joint ministerial meeting held between the GCC foreign ministers and S Jaishankar, Minister of External Affairs in the Republic of India.
The meeting discussed aspects of Gulf-Indian cooperation and means of boosting the strategic partnership between the two sides in various fields, especially in the economic, trade and investment areas. The meeting also looked into opening new horizons that contribute to achieving sustainable growth.
It also reviewed a number of developments and issues on the regional and international arenas.
Sayyid Badr also took part in the joint ministerial meeting held between the GCC foreign ministers and Sergey Lavrov, Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation.

The meeting reviewed relations between the GCC countries and Russia in various areas and means of promoting them. The two sides exchanged views on a set of thorny issues, especially those related to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, the unjust Israeli war on the Gaza Strip, and efforts for ceasefire, as well as backing humanitarian relief efforts and pushing the political process towards achieving a just peace based on a two-state solution.
The GCC side lauded the Russian stance on the Palestinian issue, which is consistent with the stances of the GCC countries. Meanwhile, Sayyid Badr took part in the joint ministerial meeting held between the GCC foreign ministers and Mauro Vieira, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federative Republic of Brazil. — ONA
