The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology invites investor to establish an Artificial Intelligence (AI) innovation studio designed to enhance skills and creativity among students and innovators. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to strengthen the integration of AI solutions across various sectors to meet organisational goals.
The ministry’s tender, open to both local and international firms, seeks proposals for the development of programmes that foster AI competencies. This includes workshops, training sessions, and collaborative projects tailored to equip the next generation with essential skills in AI technologies. The ministry emphasises that these programmes will not only serve to educate students but also support existing innovators in optimising their AI applications.
In addition to educational initiatives, the studio aims to facilitate partnerships with different sectors, ensuring that AI solutions are effectively aligned with industry-specific needs. By fostering collaboration, the ministry hopes to create a dynamic ecosystem where innovative ideas can flourish and translate into practical applications that drive economic growth.
A key component of the initiative involves promoting AI knowledge across the community. The ministry plans to offer consultations on generative AI applications, enabling businesses and individuals to leverage AI technologies for enhanced productivity and creativity. This focus on knowledge sharing is crucial as it empowers stakeholders to navigate and harness the potential of AI in their respective fields.
Financial sustainability is paramount for the studio's long-term success. The ministry is committed to ensuring that the project not only meets immediate educational and collaborative needs but also establishes a self-sustaining model that can adapt to the evolving landscape of AI technology.
Interested companies have until September 18, 2024, to purchase the tender documents, with the final submission deadline set for October 15, 2024. As of September 8, four companies have already expressed interest in participating: Siemens Industrial LLC, GIS Hub, Ernst & Young Global Ltd, and Khatib and Alami and Partners Consulting Architects & Engineers and Services.
This tender represents a pivotal step toward positioning the region as a leader in AI innovation and education, ultimately contributing to a more skilled workforce and a robust technological infrastructure. The ministry’s proactive approach demonstrates a commitment to fostering a future-ready economy that embraces the transformative power of artificial intelligence.
