NEW YORK: The Sultanate of Oman underscored the importance of fostering international partnerships to support Africa’s development agenda at the second regular session of the Unicef Executive Board.

This came in a joint statement delivered by Shununa bint Salim al Habsiyah, Representative of the Sultanate of Oman to the Unicef Executive Board, on behalf of a number of countries.

In her speech, the representative of the Sultanate of Oman to the Unicef Executive Board, praised the Unicef's strategy to support Agenda 2063: The Africa We Want and its implementation plan for the second decade 2024-2033 as well as the Africa’s Agenda for Children 2040 and the African Charter on the Rights and Welfare of the Child.

She stressed that the strategy represents a pivotal step towards strengthening partnerships between governments, civil society and the private sector to achieve a sustainable impact on the lives of children in the African continent.
