Muscat: The Embassy of the Sultanate in Oman in Dar es Salaam in the United Republic of Tanzania has clarified on the mandatory health insurance for incoming travelers.
'It is mandatory to obtain health insurance for those arriving with a tourist or commercial visa through air and sea ports from the Zanzibar Insurance Company, with the decision to be effective as of October 1, 2024,' a statement said.
It will be mandatory for all foreigners to possess valid Inbound Travel Insurance which will provide coverage for the duration of their stay (up to 92 days).
This requirement is being implemented to ensure the safety and well-being of all foreigners and mitigate any possible risk about their travel to the island.

All prospective foreigners must make necessary arrangements to obtain suitable inbound travel insurance only from Zanzibar Insurance Corporation through the QR Code that will be provided before embarking on their journey to Zanzibar.
