Omanis eligble for visa-free entry to Sri Lanka

Muscat: The Sri Lankan government has announced visa-free entry for citizens of 35 countries, including the Sultanate of Oman, according to a statement from the Sultanate of Oman's embassy in Colombo.
The new rule will come into effect from October 1, 2024, for six months, after which it will be reviewed. It will offer the free issuance of 30-day tourist visas to citizens of the following countries: India, the UK, China, the US, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Australia, Denmark, Poland, Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Nepal, Indonesia, Russia, and Thailand. Other nations on the list are Malaysia, Japan, France, Canada, the Czech Republic, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Israel, Belarus, Iran, Sweden, South Korea, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, and New Zealand.
Under a visa-free system, travelers can enter a country without obtaining a visa beforehand, which will help avoid visa processes and visa fees.
It may be noted the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Muscat recently hosted the Sri Lankan Roadshow under the theme of ‘Serendib the Golden Island’, promoting Sri Lankan Culture, Tourism, and Trade.
The Event was aimed at showcasing Sri Lanka as a premier travel destination to attract tourists during the summer vacation in Oman as well as to portray Sri Lankan vibrant culture and trade opportunities.
