Genetic skin diseases in focus at dermatology conference

Genetic skin diseases will be the main focus at the 8th Oman International Dermatology Conference and Exhibition, taking place at the Millennium Resort in Salalah on August 23 and 24.
The event is being organised by the Omani Dermatology Association in collaboration with the Directorate-General of Health Services in Dhofar Governorate. The conference will be held under the auspices of Dr Siham bint Salim al Sinaniyah, CEO of the University Medical City. Specialists from Oman, the GCC countries, the United States and the Middle East Dermatology Organization will participate.
The conference will cover a variety of topics including genetic skin diseases, recent articles from the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, psychodermatological disorders, cutaneous manifestations of internal diseases and acquired immunodeficiency syndrome, the role of gut microbiota in skin diseases and controversies in dermatologic cosmetic medicine.
The goal is to provide insight into skin diseases and treatment methods, as well as promote early and accurate diagnosis.
Dr Faiza al Raai, Chairperson of the Conference, mentioned that the scientific programme includes nine comprehensive sessions covering various specialised and emerging topics. The conference aims to attract a wide range of medical and paramedical professionals, including dermatologists, family physicians, cosmetic surgeons, allergists, immunologists, paediatricians, pharmacists, residents and medical students worldwide.
Expert speakers lined up for the conference include Dr Aisha al Ali, Dr Asma bint Nasser al Numaniyah, Dr Abeer bint Ateeq al Balushiyah, Dr Amira Elsayed Bayumi, Dr Fatma bint Mohamed al Balushiyah, Dr Waleed al Maharbi, Dr Safiya bint Ahmed al Shaithaniyah and Dr Zeyana bint Abdallah al Bahriyah. They will deliver sessions on various aspects of dermatology, providing valuable knowledge and expertise to all attendees.
