MSC ends the search for missing fishermen

Muscat: The Maritime Security Centre (MSC) on Sunday announced that it has ended the joint search and rescue operation without finding the fishermen who went missing at sea 11 days ago.
Salem al Hadi and Yaqoub al Busaidi from the Wilayat of Bausher set out on a fishing trip from Al Qurum on August 7 but they didn’t make it back the next morning.
Upon receiving a report of the incident, the military, security and civil authorities alongside fellow fishermen immediately launched an extensive search and rescue operation.
On August 10, the missing fishing boat was located north-east of the Wilayat of Saham while the fishing net was found in Al Sawadi area in the Wilayat of Barkah following which the search operation continued in hope to find the missing fishermen but to no avail.
