Al Amerat beach soccer team begin Moscow tour with a win

Oman's Al Amerat beach soccer team kicked off their campaign at the 2024 Moscow International Cup with a thrilling 7-4 victory over Argentina's Boca Juniors on Thursday.

Al Amerat opened the scoring in the first half through Carlos Valentin, boosting the Omani team's confidence and morale. Khalid al Araimi then doubled Al Amerat's lead, followed by Sami al Balushi's goal, giving the Omani team a 3-1 advantage at halftime.

Takumi scored Al Amerat's fourth goal in the second half, widening the gap and unsettling Boca Juniors' defence. The Argentine team responded with two consecutive goals to reduce the deficit to 4-3, increasing the match's intensity and competitiveness. However, Yahya al Mareiki quickly restored Al Amerat's two-goal lead with the fifth goal.

In the final third, Al Amerat players continued to dominate as Sami al Balushi scored his second goal of the match and Al Amerat's sixth. Mishal al Araimi then completed the scoring with a powerful shot from close range. Boca Juniors attempted a comeback but their efforts were only enough to reduce the deficit.

In the same group, Russia's Lokomotiv Moscow thrashed Kazakhstan's Malaisyari with a resounding 18-3 victory.

With these results, Lokomotiv Moscow topped the group standings on goal difference, followed by Al Amerat in second place. Boca Juniors came in third, while Kazakhstan's Malaisyari finished fourth.

The 2024 Moscow International Cup is being held from August 1 to 5, with the participation of eight international beach soccer clubs: Lokomotiv Moscow (Russia), Boca Juniors (Argentina), Malaisyari (Kazakhstan), Strogino (Russia), Corinthians (Brazil), Gol Golsabz (Iran), Juve (Senegal), and Al Amerat.

Al Amerat is in Group A, which also includes Lokomotiv Moscow, Boca Juniors and Malaisyari. Group B includes Strogino, Corinthians, Gol Golsabz and Juve.
