NIZWA: As the peak tourism season approaches, it is crucial to enhance efforts to promote domestic tourism in the Sultanate of Oman. The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism has launched a campaign to promote heritage and tourism components during the summer season under the slogan 'Change the Atmosphere'. This campaign, in cooperation with the National Travel Operator and Omran Group, will continue until the end of August.

The campaign includes promoting tourist sites, presenting offers from tourism companies for trips, adventure tours, accommodation offers, entertainment centre offers, and more.

In conjunction with the 'Change the Atmosphere' promotional campaign, the Department of Heritage and Tourism in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate organised the Majan Expo for Tourist Facilities 2024. This expo will run until August 3rd at the Nizwa Grand Mall and was held under the auspices of Saleh bin Dhiyab al Rubaie, Wali of Nizwa.

Haitham bin Saleh bin Salim al Hashemi, owner of Majan Expo for organising exhibitions and festivals, stated, 'A number of institutions concerned with the tourism sector from Al Dakhiliyah Governorate participated in the exhibition.

Participants include tourist facilities such as hotels, hotel apartments, heritage inns, travel agencies, and resorts from Al Dakhiliyah Governorate.' The main objective of the expo is to introduce the public to the 'Change the Atmosphere ' campaign, showcase the Ministry's role in facilitating offers and services from tourist facilities, and foster collaboration among participating establishments to promote their services. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore various services, take advantage of exclusive offers, and gain valuable insights and experience in event organisation.

Ali bin Said al Adawi, Director of the Department of Heritage and Tourism in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate, mentioned that the exhibition is organised in conjunction with the tourism movement witnessed by the governorate during this period. The aim is to introduce visitors to the governorate with hotel facilities and tourism services, as well as to enrich the tourism aspect and promote these facilities to attract visitors, especially in conjunction with the tourism movement in Dhofar Governorate.

Among the participants of the exhibition are Nizwa tourism cars, classic electronic cars that take visitors on a trip to the past in just 30 minutes.

The tour is modern, educational, and cultural, with a brief explanation of landmarks, suitable for all ages. Visitors will experience mud houses, the old lifestyle in Oman, ancient mosques, old wooden doors, facilities of the old neighbourhood, the ancient wall of Al Aqur, towers, falaj, Daris falaj distribution system, and the barbecue oven used on Eid.

The 'Change the Atmosphere' campaign, along with events like the Majan Expo for Tourist Facilities 2024, represents a vital effort to boost domestic tourism in Oman during the peak season.
