Muscat: A talented group of students from The Kings United Muscat dance academy is set to compete at the prestigious World Hip Hop International (HHI) competition, taking place from August 4th to 9th in Phoenix, Arizona. This event, often dubbed the 'Olympics of Hip Hop Dance,' attracts top hip-hop dance teams from around the world, making it a highly anticipated competition.

The six-member team, consisting of Tejaswini Shakhile, Shihan Shetty, Shubhra Buranpur, Jhanvi Prakash, Shaurya Sonavale, and Veer Gupta, hails from various schools across Muscat. They have been rigorously preparing for this moment, perfecting their routines and pushing their physical limits to compete with the best on the global stage.

Kings United Muscat was founded in 2018 by a passionate group of dancers with a shared dream of showcasing their talents internationally. Since their inception, the team has gained recognition for their skill and dedication, participating in numerous regional competitions and earning their spot at the global event through consistent performances. Their first appearance in HHI world dance championships occurred in 2022 when a group of young performers, residents of Oman, participated in a highly competitive arena.

“The team's journey to HHI has been filled with rigorous training sessions, choreographic innovation, and mental fortitude. Under the guidance of their experienced coach, Prashant Shinde, Kings United Muscat has developed a unique style that blends traditional cultural elements with modern hip hop, creating a fusion that sets them apart from their competitors,” said Tejas Gupta, director of Kings United Dance Academy Muscat.

The World Hip Hop International competition is renowned for its high standards and fierce competition, drawing teams from over 60 countries. Participants compete in various categories, including MegaCrew, Varsity, Junior, and Adult divisions. Kings United Muscat will compete in the Junior division, where they will face off against some of the world's most elite dance crews.
