Oman team wins Dutch laurels in global dance championship

Oman residents' team of young dancers has made the Sultanate proud by winning the Global Dance Open Championship held in Apeldoorn, Netherlands, from July 8 to 13.
In the competitions that hosted teams from 37 countries, including Australia, Canada, USA, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Gibraltar, the Canary Islands, New Zealand, the UAE, Qatar, Japan and Germany, the team was able to fetch gold and silver along with other titles to the Sultanate of Oman.
The team of 53 people, representing The Dance Destination, embarked on a 10-day trip to the Netherlands. Out of these, 21 students participated in six categories, securing three gold, two silver, and two fourth-place finishes.
Zero Degree Team (Senior Category Group) - a group of students from Indian School Muscat, Indian School Ghubra, ISGI, and Choueifat School Muscat, Sizzlers (Junior Category Group) - students from ISM, ISG, and ISB, and Ashutosh Arun Ganesh (Sub-Junior Solo Category) - Indian School Ghubra bagged gold in the competition that lasted for days.
Prisha Sivakumar (Senior Category Solo) - Indian School Muscat, and Jashith Manjunatha (Sub-Junior Category Solo) - Indian School Bausher won silver.
Yash Pramod Chinchunsure (Junior Category Solo) of Indian School Ghubra International, and Elina Peter Dsouza (Sub-Junior Category) of Indian School Muscat were adjudicated 4th place in the competitions.
'We are proud to have represented Oman and become the global champions once again on such a significant platform. We expected to win in our categories as we were thoroughly prepared, and our three months of hard work paid off. It is indeed a proud moment for all of us,' said Deepthi of Team The Dance Destination.
She further said that since 2018, the institution has been providing international exposure and would continue to provide such international platforms for the aspiring students, which helps groom them to be the best not only in Oman but also globally. 'It was indeed a proud moment for not only the parents and institute but also the whole community.'
