Thunderstorm clouds to bring isolated rains 

 
The continued flow of clouds of varying height from the Arabian Sea, is expected to bring chances of scattered, thundery rain at times over Al Wusta, Dhofar, the Hajar Mountains and their neighboring areas.

Thunderstorm warning issued by Oman Met Office, stated that

scattered rain, sometimes thundery, is expected on Thursday accompanied by active winds in various parts of the Hajar Mountains and desert areas as well as in the Dhofar and Al Wusta Governorates.

Scattered rain was experienced on the coasts, mountains and desert of Dhofar and continued chances of thunderstorms over the desert and mountains of Dhofar later.

The weather forecast said Al Dakhiliya, Al Dhahira and North al Sharqiya could also be affected in addition to Dhofar and Al Wusta governorates.

The Met Office has alerted on downdraft wind and flash floods and

along the coastal areas of Oman Sea winds will be easterly to northeasterly light to moderate occasionally fresh at day time becoming variable light at night, while over the rest of the governorates winds will be southerly to southwesterly light to moderate occasionally fresh along the coastal areas of the Arabian Sea and over desert and open areas.

Sea condition is expected to be rough along Arabian Sea coasts with maximum wave height of 4.0 meters and slight to moderate along rest of the coasts with maximum wave height of 1.5 meters.
