GED results out today as students wait anxiously

A number of students have expressed their feelings of anxiety and anticipation, hoping that their results would live up to their expectations
MUSCAT: The results of the General Education Diploma (GED) exams which was attended by more than 50,000 Omani and expatriate students, will be announced at 4pm today (Thursday) under the auspices of Dr Madiha bint Ahmed al Shaibaniyah, Minister of Education .
Students can view their results through the short text message service (SMS) via Omantel, Ooredoo, and Vodafone, or by sending an SMS containing the seat number to (90200).
They will also be available later on the Educational Portal, allowing students and parents to easily and conveniently follow the results as soon as they are issued.
Dr Madiha earlier approved the general indicators for the results of the GED exams for the first round of the academic year 2023/2024. She congratulated the students on their success and extended her congratulations to their parents, appreciating their efforts in helping their children achieve their ambitions.
Before the date of the results were announced, many schools had organised psychological counseling sessions to help students deal with pre-result stress and tension that were attended by many students.
The Ministry of Education affirmed its commitment to providing all necessary resources to ensure the process of announcing the results goes smoothly and transparently, while emphasising the speed and accuracy of the correction process.
Jassim al Fakhri, a student of GED of Al Alaa School in Batinah, spoke about his experience preparing for exams, saying: 'I relied on strategies such as time management and periodic review of curricula to overcome them. However, I faced great psychological pressures, but the support of my family and friends played a major role in alleviating those pressures.'
Sarah Ahmed, another student from Sharqiyah, pointed out the benefits she gained from the counseling sessions organised by the school. “These counseling sessions helped me a lot in dealing with stress and provided me with useful tips for studying. My expectation of the results is a mixture of anxiety and hope, but I am ready to deal with any outcome and I plan to continue my university education in engineering,' she said.
