MoL, SPF extend job security allowance

Muscat: The Ministry of Labor, in cooperation with the Social Protection Fund, announced the extension of the period for disbursing the job security allowance by one year to all beneficiaries who have completed six months of entitlement, with the allowance gradually reduced.
The Ministry of Labor stated that the allowance reduction will be as follows: 30% reduction of the total allowance during the first four months, 50% reduction of the total allowance during the second four months, and 70% reduction of the total allowance during the third four months.
The Ministry also clarified that the amount of the allowance will not be less than 115 Omani rials, which is the minimum specified in Article (119) of the Social Protection Law. It is required for the insured to continue to be entitled to the job security allowance after the extension: Commitment to the controls specified by the Ministry of Labor regarding seriousness in searching for work, including accepting any job opportunity offered whenever it is appropriate in accordance with the standards applicable to the Ministry.
