MoH to boost health services in Dhofar, al Wusta during Khareef

Muscat: As Dhofar Governorate welcomes the Khareef season, the Ministry of Health (MoH) has proactively developed a plan to enhance health services for visitors, especially those arriving through Al Wusta Governorate.

Muhammad Saif al Busafi from the Emergency Management Centre said there is an annual increase in traffic accidents along the road connecting Al Dakhiliyah and Dhofar Governorates via Al Wusta during this season.

The surge in road traffic during the Khareef season leads to higher accident rates and a subsequent increase in hospital visits, putting pressure on healthcare facilities in Dhofar.

The MoH has rolled out a comprehensive support plan for the Dhofar and Al Wusta Governorates to tackle health-related challenges.

According to al Busafi, this plan includes deploying additional doctors, nurses, and pharmacists to cover specialties facing shortages. The ministry has sourced medical teams from various health service directorates and hospitals to ensure healthcare provision is in full swing.

The Emergency Management Centre will oversee the implementation of this plan, conduct field visits, and meet with medical teams to evaluate progress. Furthermore, the National Medical Emergency team is prepared to intervene if necessary.

Al Busafi emphasised the importance of adherence to traffic safety and health guidelines to prevent accidents and ensure the well-being of everyone.
