Contest showcases architecture innovation

Aiming at fostering innovation and sustainable urban living, The Vocational College of Saham organised a contest in architecture and interior designs.

The closing ceremony and projects exhibition took place is the college premises under the auspices of Dr Khalid bin Abdulaziz al Amboasidi, General Director-General of Vocational Training. The event witnessed nine projects from from vocational colleges in Seeb, Ibri, and Al Buraimi. Rashid Ali al Muqbali, Head of the Building and Construction Engineering Department at the Vocational College in Saham, said: “The competition aims to enhance practical learning and interaction between vocational colleges in Oman and facilitate the exchange of expertise.”

Dr AlAmboasidi toured the exhibition after the ceremony and reviewed the projects. The projects were then assessed by a panel of experts. Top three prizes were awarded to projects from Al Buraimi Vocational College. The first prize went to a library design project, the second to a rest area design, and the third to a post office design.
