The General Assembly approved the holding of elections for the Board of Directors of the OVA for the electoral cycle 2024-2028 next September. Opening the field for new clubs

The discussion of opening the field for clubs that have recently been approved for membership in the Association to participate in the upcoming elections was discussed. The President of the Association explained that the new club is not entitled to vote according to the statute, and the matter will be reviewed and referred to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth.

The General Assembly adopted the Athletes' Charter in the Association's statute, which is an advisory committee that represents athletes before the Board of Directors and works to protect their rights. The Committee's tasks include representing the rights and interests of athletes, conveying their views on the Association's decisions, raising awareness of laws related to athletes, and working with sports clubs to protect the rights of club and national team players.

The General Assembly will elect the Board of the Athletes' Committee consisting of a President, Vice-President, Secretary and two members, with specific eligibility criteria, including that the applicant be of Omani nationality, of good character and conduct, and a retired player or player for a period of not less than two years and not more than ten years, and that the applicant not be less than 30 years old.

After being elected by the General Assembly, the Board of the Athletes' Committee will determine who will hold the positions of President, Vice-President, and Secretary, in addition to appointing the other two members, either by vote or by acclamation. The approved names are submitted to the Association's General Secretariat for approval by a decision of the Board of Directors.

The term of office of the Athletes' Committee Board shall be four years, starting from the announcement of the election results and ending at the end of the term of the Association's Board of Directors during the electoral cycle. Elections for the members of the Athletes' Committee for the upcoming electoral cycle shall be held before the elections for the Board of Directors of the Association, by the dates specified in the statute and regulations of the Association.
