SALALAH: In preparation for the upcoming Eid al Adha holiday, Dhofar Governorate has launched extensive inspection campaigns across various wilayats. These efforts, led by the Consumer Protection Authority (CPA), aim to ensure price stability and the availability of essential goods during the festive period.

Inspection teams are diligently monitoring local markets and livestock shops, which typically experience a surge in demand around Eid al Adha.

Recognising the changing consumer preferences during this season, the campaigns have been expanded to include women's beauty salons, children's clothing stores, and other high-demand items.

Notably, specialised women's teams have been established to oversee women's stores, enhancing the accuracy of monitoring and compliance with both health and economic regulations.

A senior CPA official in Dhofar emphasised that these initiatives are part of a comprehensive plan to safeguard consumer rights. The Authority remains committed to ensuring the availability of high-quality goods and services at fair prices throughout the year, with intensified efforts during peak seasons, including holidays and periods of increased tourism.

The CPA maintains open communication channels to receive complaints from citizens and residents. These complaints are addressed promptly and with due seriousness to ensure swift resolution and achieve maximum consumer satisfaction.

Beyond market inspections, the CPA in Dhofar actively engages in consumer education through media and targeted campaigns.

These initiatives aim to raise awareness about consumer rights and responsibilities, empowering individuals to effectively address any market discrepancies they encounter. Ultimately, these efforts contribute to a broader strategy of fostering trust between consumers, regulatory bodies, and commercial entities within the governorate.
