Oman Labour Law grants 15-day paid Hajj leave

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman’s recent Labour Law, introduced through Royal Decree 53/2023, has brought several significant changes to improve employment conditions for Muslim employees wishing to perform Hajj.

According to the law, those employees are entitled to a one-time paid leave of 15 days to perform Hajj (pilgrimage to Mecca) during their employment period.

The decision reads as follows: “Muslim Employees get special leave to perform Hajj once and only after one year of continuous employment. The Hajj-related paid leave may be up to 15 days, which shall be once throughout the service.”
