Samayil: The hospital will occupy a total area of 250,000 square metres with a built-up area of 61,000 square metres at a cost of RO 45 million.

The foundation stone laying ceremony will be held under the auspices of Shaikh Abdulmalik bin Abdullah al Khalili, Chairman of the State Council in the presence of Dr Hilal bin Ali al Sabti, Minister of Health.

The upcoming Samayil Hospital will be one of the important health development projects in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate. It will contain clinics, departments, various units, pharmacies, laboratories. The hospital will be appropriately equipped in such a way as to provide primary and secondary health care services to the residents of the Wilayat of Samayil and nearby areas.

Dr Nasser al Shukaili, Director-General of Health Services in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate, said that the establishment of this integrated hospital in the Wilayat of Samayil constitutes a milestone and a significant achievement in terms of upgrading healthcare services in the governorate.

In addition to the health services that the hospital will provide to the residents of the Wilayat of Samayil, the hospital’s service will be available to the neighbouring wilayats thus reducing the burden on Nizwa Referral Hospital and the central hospitals in Muscat Governorate. The hospital will also provide the necessary emergency services to the users of Al Sharqiyah and Al Dakhiliyah highways. These health projects reflect the government’s keenness to meet the aspirations and needs of citizens in different governorates and realize decentralization as well as being a step forwards in developing and improving healthcare service, the official said.
