GAZA: At least 210 Palestinians were killed and around 400 wounded in Israeli strikes on the al-Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza on Saturday, the Gaza government media office said in a statement. Dozens wounded, in the attacks, arrived on Saturday at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, the health ministry in the enclave said. The hospital, one of the only hospitals still functioning in Gaza, has been currently operating via one power generator and could go out of service while dozens of injured were still on the streets, a spokesperson from the health ministry said in front of the hospital.

Israeli forces freed four captives alive in an operation from two separate locations in the central Gaza area of al-Nuseirat on Saturday, the military said. The four captives, three males and one female who were abducted from southern Israel on Oct. 7 last year, were taken to hospital for medical checks, the military said, and were in good health. They were identified as Noa Argamani, 25, Almog Meir Jan, 21, Andrey Kozlov, 27, and Shlomi Ziv, 40.

After eight months of devastating war in Gaza triggered by Oct. 7 attack, 116 of the approximately 250 captives abducted by Palestinian groups are left in the enclave, according to Israeli tallies - at least 40 of whom have been declared dead in absentia by authorities.

In a televised news conference, spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari said one Israeli soldier had been badly injured. Israeli forces returned fire, including with airstrikes, he said.

The Gaza health ministry said that at least 210 Palestinians were killed in the Israeli operation. It did not say how many of the fatalities were combatants but said that women and children were among the dead.

More than 36,000 people in Gaza have been killed, according to the Gaza Health Ministry, since the start of the Israeli offensive, which has laid to waste much of the enclave and displaced most the population.

Meanwhile, humanitarian aid entering Gaza by sea via a U.S.- built pier will resume in the coming days, the Israeli military said on Saturday, after repairs to the structure were completed.

'The IDF (Israel Defence Forces) has begun securing the coastal area of the U.S. military's Joint Logistics Over-the-Shore (JLOTS) capability - in Gaza. The pier's re-establishment will allow for the continued delivery of humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza in the coming days,' the Israeli military said.

The U.S. Central Command said on Friday it had re-established the temporary pier anchored off Gaza's coast, which had been temporarily removed after part of the structure broke off, two weeks after it started operating. — Reuters
