Pact signed for RO 5m shellfish, algae farming project in Masirah

 
MUSCAT: The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources and Fisheries Development Oman on Wednesday signed in Muscat an agreement in the field of commercial aquaculture (breeding shellfish). The project, which will come up in the Wilayat of Masirah in Al Sharqiyah South Governorate, has an investment value of RO 5 million.

The agreement was signed by Dr Saud bin Hamoud Al Habsi, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, and Muneer bin Ali al Muniri, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Fisheries Development Oman.

The project will be implemented by the Blue Waters Company, an affiliate of Fisheries Development Oman.

Net-Zero Solutions (NTZ) Company also signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in the field of microalgae cultivation with Al Tharmad Business and Services Company and a Saudi firm named Al Khadra Gulf Industries company. — ONA
