ILO lauds efforts of General Federation of Oman Trade Unions

Muscat: On the sidelines of the 112th session of the International Labour Conference in Geneva, the Director-General of the International Labour Organization (ILO) received the Chairman of the General Federation of Oman Trade Unions and the accompanying labour delegation.
During the meeting, they discussed legislative amendments in the Sultanate of Oman, including the labour and social protection laws, and ways to implement the priorities and components of the National Decent Work Programme in the Sultanate of Oman, as well as joint activities with the organization in this regard.
The efforts of the General Federation in promoting tripartite social dialogue within the workforce per international labour standards were also highlighted. The Director-General commended the federation's activities and the progress it has made, emphasizing the importance of mutual cooperation between the two sides.
