Muscat: SalamAir has announced the launch of direct flights from Muscat to Cairo by flying to Sphinx International Airport in Giza.

The launch of flights to Cairo holds significant importance as it caters not only to leisure travelers but also to the thriving Egyptian community residing in Oman.

SalamAir recognizes the importance of facilitating travel for expatriates, students, and professionals, further strengthening people-to-people ties, and cultural and trade exchange between the two countries.

Sphinx International Airport is located on the desert road between Cairo and Alexandria, 45 kilometers from the pyramids of Giza and 42 kilometers from Cairo city center. The airport is mainly dedicated to tourism and covers a surface area of 4,000 sqm for its main building and 24,000 sqm for the whole building with an annual capacity of 1.2 million passengers per year.
