17 safely evacuated after a house fire in Muscat

Muscat: The firefighters of the Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority (CDAA) in Muscat safely evacuated 17 people using a hydraulic crane following a fire that erupted in the flat of one of the buildings in South al Hail. The evacuated flat occupants are in good health.
The CDAA has warned of danger in homes due to the presence of electrical tools and appliances that are used daily, and their degree of danger varies according to the mechanism of dealing with them.
The reasons include leaving electrical appliances turned on for a long time, and failure to maintain electrical appliances and tools regularly, unqualified persons
installing and maintaining electrical connections and using electrical tools and devices that do not conform to standard specifications.
It also urged to use of electrical sockets according to their capacity, turning off electrical appliances immediately after use, and disconnecting the electrical current
It is essential to install smoke and gas sensors and have a fire blanket.
