Forum on sustainability in school administration begins

The Third Forum for Schools has commenced under the theme ‘Leadership and Sustainable Educational Visions’ targeting over 1,800 participants including school principals, supervisors, and educational directors from various governorates. The forum aims to promote sustainability within the school environment.
Dr Abdullah bin Mohammed al Saeedi, Minister of Justice and Legal Affairs, inaugurated the forum and toured the educational visions exhibition. The exhibition featured ten local and international educational models from universities, colleges, public and private schools, and institutions dedicated to educational development, aligning with the forum’s themes.
Dr Sulaiman al Jamoudi, Chairman of the Forum’s Main Committee, emphasised the critical role of effective school administration in ensuring the efficiency of the educational process and sustainability within school environments. He highlighted the importance of strengthening material, human and technical resources to achieve educational goals.
Nada al Rawas, Director of Manbaa al Hekma School in Dhofar Governorate, expressed the collective pride and determination of school principals to continue achieving remarkable results through clear, strategic plans.
The first day featured three dialogue sessions. The initial session, moderated by Dr Rashid al Mahrezi, Member of the State Council, included two key presentations. Greg Parry, CEO of Education in Services Global Company, discussed 'Future Skills and Promoting a Culture of Innovation among School Leaders,' focusing on preparing students for future challenges and fostering creativity and critical thinking among educational leaders.
Hamid al Busaidi, Executive Director of the Oman Center for Governance and Sustainability, threw light on ‘Enhancing the Culture of Governance in School Administrations’ emphasising the role of governance in improving school performance and policy setting.
The second session, led by Dr Ali al Harrasi, Member of the State Council, included three presentations. Dr Rima al Karami Akkari from the American University of Beirut spoke on ‘School-Based Development’ highlighting the importance of visionary educational leadership. Professor Dr Khaled al Thubaiti from Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University discussed ‘A Future Vision for Developing the Performance of School Administration’ stressing the need for strategic planning in line with global development projects.
The day concluded with a third session featuring three papers. Dr Salem al Shuaili from the Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology spoke on ‘Utilising Artificial Intelligence Applications in Improving the Educational Process’ detailing AI applications such as personalised learning, automated assessment, and administrative support.
Consultant Nasser al Yarbi, CEO of Jibreen Scientific Academy, addressed ‘Enhancing the Culture of School Leadership with the Community During Crises’ focusing on crisis management and decision-making.
Major Salem al Rasbi from the National Center for Emergency Situations Management discussed ‘The Roles of School Leadership in Managing Emergency Situations’ outlining key concepts and principles of emergency management.
The forum concluded with the launch of the new logo for the School Administration Forum's third edition.
