OOC holds second meeting

The Executive Office of Oman Olympic Committee (OOC) held its second meeting of the year on Sunday, chaired by Khalid bin Mohammed al Zubair, OOC Chairman. The meeting discussed several important topics, notably the review and discussion of OOC proposal to establish GCC sports federations as the optimal framework for addressing the organizational and technical challenges of sports competitions in the GCC.

This proposal represents one of the mechanisms and executive tools that will effectively implement the approved strategic plan for developing joint work in the sports field among the GCC countries. The attendees agreed to present the proposal at the meeting of GCC NOCs Executive Office, scheduled for May 28 in the state of Qatar.

Additionally, amendments to Ministerial Resolution No. 88/2024 concerning the guidelines for allocating and disbursing government support to OOC were reviewed, along with the financial status of OOC until May of this year.

The attendees also reviewed the invitation from the General Secretariat of the GCC for participation in the GCC 36th meeting of NOCs Presidents, scheduled to be held in the Qatari capital, Doha, from May 27 to 29. OOC will participate in the meeting with a delegation headed by Khalid al Zubair, OOC president, in addition to HH Sayyid Azan al Said, OOC vice president, Taha al Kashri, OOC secretary-general, Lujaina al Zaabiya, board member, and Dr Mansour al Touqi, board member.

OOC Executive Office concluded the meeting with the discussion of several agenda items related to new developments and the necessary decisions taken regarding them.
