Nama group announces fixed payment service

 
Muscat: Nama Electricity Distribution Company announced on Tuesday the launch of the “fixed payment service” that enables subscribers to pay a fixed amount monthly throughout the year to avoid financial problems related to high electricity bills during the summer period.

This was announced in a press conference organised by Nama Electricity Supply Company, Nama Electricity Distribution Company, and Nama Dhofar Services Company to reveal their summer readiness plans.

According to Nama, the newly-launched service is a monthly fixed payment calculated based on the actual average consumption for the last 12 months. The initiative is aimed to alienate financial burden of customers during the summer months. Customers will be able to pay this predetermined amount irrespective of their actual usage. The service can be subscribed through Nama website or app for free.

The electricity companies outlined comprehensive measures to streamline power supply, enhance customer service, and prioritise safety and sustainability during the peak summer months.

The companies emphasised their commitment to providing a stable and uninterrupted electricity supply throughout the summer. This includes proactive maintenance programmes, strategic capacity planning, and various measures to address unforeseen challenges.

Recognizing the importance of customer satisfaction, the companies highlighted their efforts to improve customer service during the summer, which will include extended call center hours, online support channels, and proactive communication to keep customers informed about any service disruptions.

As part of the companies' top priority to ensure safety, they roll out safety protocols, conduct regular safety training for employees, and raise public awareness about electrical safety measures. Additionally, the companies are committed to sustainable practices, promoting energy efficiency, and utilizing renewable energy sources whenever possible.

The group revealed during the meeting that the completion rate in implementing the smart electricity meter project reached 45 percent and work is continuing to include all electricity accounts.
