Pilgrims from the Sultanate of Oman who are planning to visit the holy land of Makkah and Madinah have been advised to complete their formalities in time, according to the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs (MERA).

Further details of the procedures to follow have been made available on its website and the message has been sent to the incumbents on their phones.

In its instruction to the pilgrims and the transport contractors titled 'Steps for transport contracts for the 1445 AH season', the Ministry has stipulated that all terms and conditions pertaining to the carriage of Hajj pilgrims should be specified and decided upon.

It is important for all pilgrims as well as companies to negotiate and contract with one company that will transport their pilgrims from their arrival until their departure, this is called the accompanying contract, and it is the best option.

'The accompanying contract is available to Gulf pilgrims in which it specifies the routes and makes it possible to specify the model and price according to the agreement with the transport company and we recommend this as the best option,' a spokesperson from the ministry said.

The pilgrims' entry and exit routes shall be clearly mentioned and regarding the usage of Haramain train, pilgrims and companies from Oman shall agree with the transport company in advance regarding its desire to transport pilgrims back and forth.

The Permanent Committee for Hajj Affairs headed by Ahmed bin Saleh bin Sufyan al Rashidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs, said SMS text messages were sent to those eligible for the opportunity to perform Hajj 1445 AH to complete the contracting procedures and electronic payment of 50 per cent of the Hajj cost to the Hajj companies they have joined.

This will be available for ten days through the electronic registration system for pilgrims from the Sultanate of Oman. The ministry has reiterated that pilgrims need to contract only with licensed companies through the electronic registration system for safer and smoother experience of the pilgrimage.

'We request all Hajj pilgrims to contract only with companies licensed through the electronic registration system for pilgrims of the Sultanate of Oman at www.hajj.om, and to complete the procedures and not to fall prey to the false promises of fake companies operating in this sector,' the official said.
