Sultan Qaboos University celebrated its twenty-fourth annual day under the auspices by Dr Khamis bin Saif al Jabri, Head of Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit with an exhibition that aims to display the results of scientific research carried out by university researchers.

The exhibition consists of several corners the main one being the Deanship of Scientific Research, the Research Projects Corner which contains nine research projects, a mural that includes the achievements of the year 2023 for scientific research, and the Glorious Researcher Corner in the field of research.

Oman Vision 2040 prioritised education, scientific research and innovation to advance national capabilities by focusing on providing diverse and sustainable funding sources that enhance and strengthen the bonds of true partnership between academic and research institutions and private sector institutions.

Sultan Qaboos University has paid attention to scientific research as in the field of financing research and the number of projects has reached 293 beneficiaries at a cost of more than RO3.5 million for the value of funding and 378 international conferences in which university researchers participated.

While 207 scientific papers were published in seven fields affiliated with the university, 988 scientific papers were published, 72 per cent of which were in first- and second-level journals indexed in the Scopus database, in addition to 8 research chairs run by the university.

Sultan Qaboos University continues its commitment to supporting researchers and enhancing their participation in local and international conferences by providing material and logistical resources.

These participations are a vital opportunity to build a network of relationships and enhance international cooperation in various fields of research and development.
