MUSCAT: Muscat Educational Directorate were crowned champions of the girls’ volleyball league after the team’s victory in the final over Al Dhahirah Educational Directorate with a score of 2-0. The score of the first set was 25-18, while the second set ended with a score of 25-19.

The final was held in the sub-hall of the Sultan Qaboos Complex in Bausher, under the auspices of Dr Suad bint Abdullah al Ishaqiyah, Director-General of Corporate Communications and Branding at OQ Group, and in the presence of Dr Khadija al Balushi, Assistant Director-General of the Directorate-General of Education in Muscat Governorate, Fahd al Mashaykhi, Secretary-General of the Oman School Sports Association (OSSA) and Safaa al Salmi, a member of the Board of Directors of OSSA.

The final match was preceded by a match to determine the third and fourth places, where Al Batinah North Educational Directorate won third place after defeating Al Dakhiliyah Educational Directorate 2-1. Al Batinah North won the first by 25-18 but Al Dakhiliyah came back in the second set to win it 25-12. In the deciding tie-breaker, Al Batinah North prevailed 15-11.



After the end of the match, the supporting partners, organisers, and referees who supervised the tournament were honoured. The teams that won the first three places were honoured along with the winners of the individual awards. Skyla Souza from Muscat Educational Directorate won the best hitter award, Azhar al Hanai from Al Dhahirah received the best setter award, while Muscat's Maysaa al Battashi received the best smasher award.

The tournament, which was supervised by the Oman School Sports Association, witnessed great competition and excitement among all eight participating educational directorates, targeting 80 female students born in 2006/2007. The tournament also produced many volleyball talents.
