Preparations for Haj are currently underway as the Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs began talks with the competent authorities in Oman as well as in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

A coordination meeting was held between the Omani Haj Mission and the Military Haj Delegation to discuss developments in the procedures related to the services provided to Omani pilgrims in the holy sites. The meeting was attended by Ahmed bin Saleh al Rashdi, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs; Sultan bin Said al Hinai, Head of the Omani Haj Mission; and Brigadier General Hassan bin Ali al Majini, Head of Moral Guidance and Military Protocol at the Chief of Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces representing the Military Haj Mission.

They discussed various matters pertaining to the pilgrimage. Oman is planning to send as many as 14,000 pilgrims. In order to facilitate the pilgrimage of believers from the Sultanate of Oman this year, Oman has formed a Haj Mission under the chairmanship of Sultan bin Said al Hinai, the current head of the mission, earlier in 2024.
