Oman LNG has unveiled plans to transform Wadi Mibam near Sur, into a model for sustainable development as part of its social investment strategy.
Mohammed al Mukhaini, Senior Manager of Communications and Community Affairs at Oman LNG, presented a forward-looking vision for Wadi Mibam’s transformation during the Oman Sustainability Week (OSW), which opened here on Monday, April 29.
Emphasizing the need for a holistic approach, Al Mukhaini highlighted Mibam's natural beauty, nestled amidst mountains and boasting serene lakes and picturesque landscapes. He stressed the importance of preserving these environmental treasures while catering to diverse visitor interests, ranging from tranquil retreats to adventurous hikes.
Speaking exclusively to the Observer, Al Mukhaini emphasized the multifaceted nature of sustainability underscoring the significance of learning from diverse experiences and highlighted that sustainability extends beyond technological advancements. He emphasized the importance of community development in achieving sustainability goals, stating that it encompasses environmental conservation, economic prosperity, and societal well-being.
