30 cases of home burglary, ROP urges camera surveillance

Muscat: The Department of Criminal Investigation has arrested seven expatriates of Asian nationality for involving in 30 cases of thefts from homes in the Muscat and South al Batinah governorates.
The modus operandi was to monitor and target homes at night to infiltrate and steal jewelry and valuables.
It praised citizens for cooperation with the police in uncovering many cases and their contribution to preserving their neighbors’ property during their absence from home.
The Royal Oman Police (ROP) stressed the necessity of following the necessary procedures to protect private property from theft by using cameras and modern means of surveillance.
ROP urged homeowners to secure their dwellings against potential break-ins, notably by investing in modern safety alarms and surveillance systems.
CCTV systems in homes are becoming more popular across Oman, and the growing move to protect family and property has been welcomed by the ROP.
